Beer volumes by market: Beer volume series by market: keep or drop, then one or two charts each · built 04 Nov 2026, 05:50
Every beer-volume series we can get free, one market at a time. Tick what to
keep; the charts below follow. Ticks are my recommendation to start with and are saved in
your browser.

Why
Refresh
Nothing above needs a login. "Manual"
means I refresh that file by hand from a free source; the rest refresh from an API.
"Tracks beer" is only computed for on-trade series: how closely they move with the
market's production index.
Charts
Appendix: notes and what does not exist
Beer vs not beer. Germany, France, Poland, China, Norway, UK and Vietnam are
beer. Denmark, Finland are beverages (soft drinks and water included); Sweden and
Switzerland are wider still. Nothing is summed across markets.
Faint line is the raw print, solid line a 12-month average (4-quarter
for Norway).
On-trade value (France, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland) is hospitality
turnover: restaurants and bars including food, so it carries menu prices, wages and
rents. France reads +9% a year while its beer output is flat, and correlates 0.07
with it. Only Germany publishes an on-trade volume, and that one tracks beer
at 0.83.
UK clearances are litres of alcohol, so they move with strength mix, not just
beer volume. UK data only starts Aug 2023.
Norway is duty-paid sales (shipments), quarterly, not production.
China February is a Jan+Feb total and is dropped from the monthly tests.
Nothing free exists for: Sweden or Switzerland at beer level, Denmark beer
monthly, UK on-trade, India monthly beer (its API ignores the month).
Not verified, might fill the gaps: retail monopolies (Systembolaget, Alko,
Vinmonopolet), national brewers' associations, and paid panels (NIQ, CGA, Euromonitor).
The paid ones would need a licence from you.
